What is GS - CW doing????

I got a call yesterday from a nice lady at GS. She said she was calling to follow up on my call about not receiving my Highways magazine. I told her it arrived and thank her. She said it was originally mailed but returned as undeliverable by the post office. The post office has my address as not a valid address for the type of mailings GS does. She said I should check with the post office. In the mean time she would put my GS mailings on a first class mailing list. This is just for GS mailings I subscribe to or request. This all came from out of no where. Thank you.
Then two days ago I get my rig out of the shop (not CW) after 5 months and 50K worth of body and chassis work. First place I went was CW in Mesa to get an estimate of current value after the collision and discuss consignment, trade, or whatever. They gave me reasonable prices and what I considered good guidance. I asked them to give me a couple days to think about it and I left on an up beat. Today they called and asked if I had made a decision. I told them I was going to hang on to my rig for awhile. He thanked me for stopping by and giving them a shot at making a deal.
So I guess the question is....I have had two dealings with GS and CW this week and have no complaints, am I doing something wrong????

  • I agree, nice to hear the positives. In addition, I will add that I received a phone message yesterday from Camping World tech informing me that our warranty work has been approved and parts are on their way. Trailer was just dropped off there end of last week. Love the fact they keep customers updated, great service!

Any idea how many members there are?

I think it was 2010 or 2011 I read the statement by the CEO that there were nearly one million members.

Currently the Good Sam 'about us' page says 1.5 million members.

That is a huge leap in four years if it is true.
  • Been a member since the early 90s. No problems.

    Pogoil.
  • Thanks for posting. It is refreshing to see a Positive Post in a Sea of Negatives. I believe the Negatives are a Minority. That is mostly what you see here. IMHO, it is wrong to post a Negative until you have tried to get a Resolution and have not. Why go out of the Way to give a Company a Black Eye?
  • I would guess that the negatives that you read on these, and other, forums are a very small percentage of the total business done by GS, CW, etc. since the membership roles for these forums represent a very small percentage of the total folk involved the the RV life. For each one of those, there are likely thousands of satisfied customers, else they would have gone under long ago.
  • To answer the question posed in your thread title: It sounds like they are doing good.
  • Nothing against GS/CW, but I half expected to see "April Fools!" or something at the end of that post. ;)
  • I think what you are saying is: not everyone that deals with GS and CW has a bad experience.

We probably only see the complaints because people want to vent.
Most people that have normal or good experiences don't post the results.
They get the service they expect and there's no reason to tell everyone. JMO
