What is the purpose of Good Sam Roadside Assistance?

Paragraphs are your friend, it is difficult to read, or at least it was for me.
Sorry to hear about an accident, and glad no one passed.
While no one wants to wait for anything, I know I don't, I am surprised they helped you at all as accidents are taken care of by your insurance company, not GSERS. Your insurer, or the at fault party should be arranging for it to be moved, and if you are paying the bill, it should be submitted as part of the claim. Why is the insurance company not doing it?
