What's in a name.

We just renewed our membership and I have two questions:

Why is the "Thank You" letter addressed to me but both cards have my wifes name on them?

Why does one of the new cards have a sticker across it that demands: "Register your membership today at..."?
Why do I have to go online and register this card when I only renewed my membership and have had it for years? I don't understand why I have to bother with this - and why only with one card.

    Both cards should have had both your name & your wife's name. Was your wife's name also on the new set of cards?

    The process is that when there are 2 people on the account, the letter is addressed to the person listed as "primary" on the account. And, both cards will have both names. I've set your account so that your husband is listed as primary. I've re-issued you cards so that you'll receive a set of cards with both names.

  • Sorry for piggybacking on your post, Scott, but the same thing just happened to me.

    I just received new member cards in the mail yesterday, and the same thing has happened to me! This is my forum ID, I was the one who signed up and paid for the Good Sam Club, the welcome letter was addressed to me, but both membership cards have my husband's name on it.

    I must admit that my initial reaction was that this happened to me because I was a woman, until I saw this post.

    Admin, can I also receive new membership cards through this forum, or do I need to contact Good Sam directly?

    To update you, your new membership cards are printed. You'll receive 2 cards, both with your name & your wife's name. They are mailing today via 1st class postage to expedite delivery. Please allow a few days for receipt.

    To answer your questions:

    At times there can be errors in data transmissions as we believe this is the case in your scenario. I’ve placed an order for new cards to be sent so you’ll have a Good Sam Club membership card with your name, sorry for the inconvenience. I’ll be in touch until your cards arrive to ensure you received everything correctly.

    Why does one card have a sticker asking you to register your membership?
    We’ve learned that many members are not familiar with all the exciting online members-only benefits available to them at GoodSamClub.com using the “Sign In” feature for members. For example, members who aren’t registered online and signing in to gain access to the members-only content are missing out on hundreds of dollars in Camping World coupons, the online trip planner, registering for the SamAlert RV Recall Notification Service, volunteering to become a Standby Sam and more! The goal of the sticker was to make sure all members are aware of these online members-only benefits that require registering in order to set up your unique log in.

    Why is the sticker just on 1 of the 2 cards?
    The online registration is tied to your membership number so you only need to register once. It’s simply a reminder for members to go online to register the membership so you can gain access to the members-only content.

    Why is the sticker on your card when you’ve been a Club member for years?
    We learned that there are some members who have been with the Club for multiple years and have yet to register online. We thought it would be a good reminder for everyone. But, since it seems it may be causing more confusion than providing a helpful reminder, once we run out of the existing supply of stickers we won’t place the stickers on the cards any longer.

  • Thanking YOU for renewing and gave the cards to the 'boss' :B

    Your card is the one that has to be registered.........right now otherwise YOU won't be able to use it when the 'boss' lets you have the card
  • The GSC has many issues with membership cards that have not been resolved to their detriment.
