Why do we keep paying more??

I am a life member, I have roadside assistance that expires 7/15/16. I just received an email from GS thanking me for renewing my roadside assistance for another year (and BTW it will cost you more). WHAT the H?

When I joined and got roadside assistance it was $79.00 for 1 year plus 3 extra months as a bonus. Now it is $129.00 for a year and no bonus, no extra months, just an email thanking me for doing it.

What gives? Why don't the first year cost you $129.00 and thereafter $79.00?

Not sure I will renew. I came from AAA, where I got free maps, guide books, travel assistance (live), and roadside assistance.

  • Why did a loaf of bread cost $1.00 ten years ago and today it costs $2.75? Everything is going up.

Raising prices and getting jacked around is why we canceled DirectTV, and then when DishTV did the same thing, we canceled them too. Bottom line, when the cost becomes more than we are willing to pay, we simply stop paying and cancel, or never buy another one. I do without a lot of things because I refuse to pay the increasing prices.

But raising prices is part of the world we live in.
  • This is not a political answer, it's a financial answer. It's because we have a fiat currency. A quick explanation, to me anyway is that when you print money into the system the other money becomes worth less. It matters not as long as the rate of this inflation is matched by EVERYONES wages increasing at the same rate. That is where the problem comes in and we come out on the short end. GS isn't just sitting back and increasing their price for no reason and the grocery store isn't either. They are passing on their having their pockets picked by the central bankers. NO, the federal reserve is not truly our government/our bank, it is controlled by the central bankers. Federal reserve act of 1913. Read the book "Creature from Jekyl island" by G Edward Griffin.
