I would think your damage claim is with the first tow operator if you can prove negligence. Thats a civil court issue probably. Your insurance will be your best bet, that's what its for. Let the insurance company go after the tow company. IMO it was stupid trying that with a light duty wrecker, the operator should have known better. $850 seems like a decent price though for a heavy. Those guys can get expensive fast! Roadside Assistance failed you, that's not unusual. I rather make my own arrangements and take my chances.
