I like this topic but you do seem like you are pushing your own business.
What I would find most useful would be information or links relating to solo RV traveling in Mexico. For me, the lack of information is the biggest barrier.
No, I am not in business, I work as wagon master for expenses only because I love introducing people to Mexico, and people who retire & do nothing, tend to die. I also do customer orientations for 2 outfits. I am more than willing to provide you with information on how to go solo. What would you like to know?
There are several web sites with info to help you figure it all out:
On the road in Mexico
Mexico RV Info
The church's site
As well as Bill Bells facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/167187996679894/
All of those are a mine of information
Thanks :).
Those were useful to get me started, although still a lot of emphasis on caravans.
That is because Caravans are usually the way 75% of people first venture into Mexico or the only way they will venture into Mexico. Safety is the main concern, but that is not the reason people should use a caravan, not many take a Caravan to Alaska because they want to feel safe, they do it because they want the hassles taken care of and like traveling with others. That can create problems in Mexico since some people on caravans are the unsociable types who should never take one. Don't get me onto the large French Canadian ones. There is nothing worse than encountering a line of 35 rigs in one caravan on a Mexican highway. And you need to know what RV parks they use, and when. They will fill some parks like Tachos in PV, Telaquepaque in Lo de Marcos and Villa Corona near Guadalajara. Quebecers are almost exclusively in Caravans, Finding someone in Mexico who can speak French is almost impossible, so its the only way those who have no English or Spanish, can manage.
There is also a perception out there than Baja is safer, which it is not. The one big advantage to Baja is you do not need a vehicle permit. Once again if you plan to drive down Baja, you need to check the schedules for Baja Amigos, Baja Winters, Adventure, Fantasy & Vagabundos caravans to ensure you will find room in some RV parks. You are far more likeley to encounter caravans on the Baja.
