I know what you mean, I have had a few tag along that have been a real pain, from people who just lag way too far back to one guy who was so cheap he tried to boondock next to RV parks for free. On the other hand I have made 2 or 3 really good friends. I do not do wagon mastering with my wife, I go alone with her in spring, she cannot abide some people and they will know it. I do it in Fall with my sister. I actually did it to help out one particular set of RV park ownwers who have become like family to me, plus it gives my sister who is on the bottom of the economic ladder a chance to get a free annual vacation. Compared to the high strung people I had to deal with in the corporate world when I worked, the odd awkward RVer is easy. Still in Spring when I go down on my own, I am very selective on who I will allow to tag along with me these days. I invariably have people come up to me in the Walmart in Nogales and ask if I have been down before and it they can tag a,long. I usually tell them as far as San Carlos.
