some people on caravans are the unsociable types who should never take one.
That might be me :).
Don't get me onto the large French Canadian ones. There is nothing worse than encountering a line of 35 rigs in one caravan on a Mexican highway. And you need to know what RV parks they use, and when. ...
There is also a perception out there than Baja is safer, which it is not. The one big advantage to Baja is you do not need a vehicle permit.
Thanks for the tips!

My experince is that most RVers that Caravan to Mexico are one-timers never to be seen again. Everyone I know that Snowbirds / RVs in Mexico took a short trip SOB (South Of the Border) then increased distance South with each following trip. OR teamed up with another RV.... There is so much info on the Internet now that nearly any Campground can be located and contacted. If a question remains, the Rving in Mexico/South America forum of the site, will provide answers from others that RV in Mexico.
I guess my main questions at this point (if you feel like answering) are, are all campgrounds private, or does Mexico have the equivalent of FS ones? And if boondocking is allowed, where?
In other words, I have no clue how things work down south!
