Snowbirding in Mexico

Great topic! A lot of very interesting input and aside from the obvious negative posts I have learned quite a bit. This is our 5th season full-timing going south and I originally wanted to go SOB but after seeing all the outright negativity by the US press regarding their neighbours to the south Frau Blücher flat out said NO! So we settled in "Sunny St.Cloud" Florida and we really love it but having been to Mexico a great many times for vacation I found the folks down there to be gracious hosts and have never once felt threatened in any way and yes I did not just stay held-up in the resort. It's a common truth that if you go looking for trouble chances are good you'll find it and you could get shot in the streets of Windsor ONT. as well as anywhere else if you try hard enough! As a Canadian spending six months as a guest in the USA I too worry about the gun violence that is everywhere, actually we laugh that we are probably the only people at our resort that aren't packing and I've given thought to perhaps taking a month and trying Mexico and the positive input from this thread has given me the confidence to give it a whirl!
