Winnebago uses a flowable silicone around the skylight and back cap roof seam. Nothing will stick to silicone, not even new silicone. I doubt that there was any problem with the original sealant unless it was compromised by the cleaning folks using a pressure washer on it. The flowable silicone that Winnebago uses seems to be far superior to the junk sold at all the home stores.
