I just bought an 07 Southwind on a Workhorse W-22 Chassis. I asked a lot of questions concerning the Worhorse vs Ford........the general concensus was they are both about equal, most said it wouldn't be a deal breaker one way or another. However, everyone thought highly of the Allison transmission....and on a personal note it's much easier getting in and out of the seat with the lower dog house on the Workhorse then on the Ford. The Ford also is a little noisier on a grade due to a slightly higher RPM.
If you're looking at a 32 ft motohrome, and end up with a Workhorse, I'd try to get into an 07 or newer. The reason, they have a grade brake and have the 22.5 inch tires. I had an 03 Southwind on W-20 with 19.5 inch tires and had to run around 90psi in the tires.......I just had my 07 weighed and with the 22.5 tires, I run 75psi.......the ride is so much better in the 07 then the 03.....it's amazing. Good Luck
