Sure, why not. I use a PD9160 with an external Charge Wizard. The PD9260 is the same thing as the PD9160 but has the Charge Wizard built in. I hollowed out the internal components of my old converter and installed the PD9160 inside the old case so that I could retain the fuse box above it.
Enough people started to do this modification using the 9100 and 9200 series, that Progressive Dynamics came out with the 4600-series. The 4600-series should be a direct replacement of the old one.
The PD9260 should do the job.
