Along with considering AGM batteries, you might want to invest in an adequate solar panel array to do the charging and give your generator a rest. I have two 6V AGM batteries in series along with 200 Watts of solar panels. Before this set up, I'd have to run my genset for 3-4 hours a day. Now, I only fire it up if I'm using an appliance that needs 120 volts such as the microwave.
