Did you buy this old rig with the expectation of using it for long distance touring and camping with all the comforts or maybe dabbling in local camping, etc.Old rigs like this are often underpowered and tend to overheat and run badly at high altitudes. If your husband has the tools, workspace, know-how and time to do the water damage repairs including final interior and exterior appearance repairs, and any other repairs/upgrades/replacement needs that you discover, and you have realistic estimate of how much it will cost,including things that you can't DIY, and how much it will be worth for resale, then you can decide if it's worth it as something you will want to keep for a number of years to get some value out of. Expect to get $5000 or less for it when you sell it regardless of how much effort and money you put into it.
