We have very realistic expectations for this rig. We wanted to be able to go camping around the state and have a driving distance of about 500 miles each way (to visit family).
We are currently compiling a list of pros/cons and DIY/Hire Out. We will then decide whether we want to deal with it or not.
I wasn't looking to make some sort of profit on this. We want an RV we can use for a few years. We have a disabled son and camping is getting increasingly difficult with him each season. We just want one that can haul our drift boat.
We are planning to work on the roof (rechaulk and reseal) and to reseal the windows with butyl tape and to locate the engine gas leak. These are things I think are reasonable to repair initially. Then we'll have a mechanic look at the engine and tell us what needs repairs.
Since we bought it cheaply, I will only be looking to get back what we bought it for. At the very least, someone could use the old girl for parts for another repair.
Like I said, though, we aren't looking to make bank. We just wanted something to fix and use for a few years.
