1978 Tioga Purchase
Hi.
My hubby and I recently purchased a 1978 Dodge Midas 21 ft. class c rv.
We got it knowing that we were going to have to make some repairs due to what was supposed to be limited water damage. Of course, this is not the case. The list of repairs is adding up. I'm trying to see if it's worth our efforts or if we would be better off selling it as is and recouping our money (we got it at a very low price so this is possible).
Could anyone take a look at this list and tell me their opinion:
Repairs we know about so far:
Water damage to part of floor
Water damage around window
Water damage around kitchen cabinet
Water damage around bathroom.
Water damage in the closet (this is all the same side).
Gas Tank Leak
Transmission Leak
New filters
New belts needed.
Roof needs repairs and resealing.
Cracks on the side of rig where it hit something.
Good Points:
All original appliances, ac, heater work.
Less than 35,000 original miles.
Tires are in great shape.
Engine seems sounds.
We got the rig for $1200. I'm comfortable putting money into it if it's worth it. I'm also comfortable selling it and losing a couple of hundred as a lesson learned. The saddest part is that it looks like it was in great shape until a few years ago. These people just didn't care for it at all.
