1985 toyota motor home

Does anyone know about the different models built in 1985 by totyota? I like antique and old style stuff, and plus it is cheap. I want to try out RV living for awhile. Rather than spending a bunch of money on high quality stuff, i can start cheap and take a little risk.

Originally, I was going to purchase a trailer but then decided against it, cause i am not the best of driver and the act of towing a home behind me just scares me a little bit. I can't even drive a regular vehicle without having problems, what am i going to do with a trailer behind me then?

my question is simple.. what are the risk of getting an old car like the 1985 toyota motor home? What are the advantages? What is the maximum milage can those 4 cylinder motor home able to endure? how hard is it to change gears out of motor home? I was thinking about switching alot of the stuff to electric and or solar.

Look forward to getting answer..

also I am new here and don't know what class of vehicle is which. so putting it under C maybe wrong categories.. if that is the case please moderator move my post to class B. I think that C is a little bigger than B, which is a van right? I think C is more mobile home likeness ? and A is truly mobile home? bigger than 27?
  • From someone who owns a Toyota Class C: Like any motorhome, Toys (that's what their owners call them), can be marvelous, efficient machines or pieces of junk. Prices range anywhere from $2,000 to $17,000--and you get what you pay for. If it runs smooth, looks good and has no major defects, expect to pay in the $5,000 to $8,000 range. Any price above that should be for an exceptional clean, well-cared for MH. Some brands, such as Sun Raders, have a cult-like following so expect to pay extras for that cache. Other than that, use your common sense--and check twice or three times for signs leaks; they are the deadly enemies of all MHs, particularly Class Cs.
  • That era Toyota had a bullet proof driveline. When you are talking about an RV that age it is all about the maintenance history and where it was stored.
