1989 Award trailers???

any pros or cons on a 1989 AWARD 23 ft trailer?
  • If they are the same ones I am thinking of,they were low profile and haven't been built for years.I think the company started and stopped numerous times under different owners until it finally died.I think you can still get parts, don't know where, maybe Ontario,Canada.See the odd one around for sale.
  • I always like the looks of them, but never owned one. I did hear that they were susceptible to leaking around the seams, but have no personal experience with it.
  • Hi - a 1989 anything is prone to leaks... But especially check around that front window. Some parts are still available at the defunct manufacturer in Ontario, Canada. I think 2005 was the last year of manufacturing them. Here is a link to their website - it also has their number which still works: Award RV. We picked up some parts from the store a couple of months ago.

We love our Award, it is in great condition because it has always been stored inside. It tows very nicely and the layout is perfect for us.

PS - You're probably going to want your post moved to the Travel Trailer forum....
  • several years ago I had a 93 model award f'ver.Overall it was a well built and light weight camper.I think award went out of business in 95-96 .be sure to check camper walls for delamination as this can be a bear to repair.
