It is designed for diesel engines; not sure of termology but it has ash and other aditives for these older design engines. Modern oils are designed for modern engines which have very close tolerence on parts. I run the Delo in a 454 in my 70 elcamino, motorcycle, and lawn mowers, I even use it in my 2002 chevy 1500hd tow vehicle. Read up on these big block chevys and oil and I think you will agree.
