I had a 30'Class'A'on the Chevy P30 chassis, 454. for 14 years. After about 30,000 miles I was told to use 20w50 in it because its a hot runnin engine with sloppy tolerances. Seemed to work good. Don't forget to shield the starter motor against the dredded "Hot Start" problem. It absorbs heat when shut down and locks the plunger in place till it cools down. Great fun at gas stations. Also, when it cracks exhaust manifolds install the BEST aftermarket copper gaskets you can find.
You know other fix for hot starter also is always let engine cool while running for couple mins before shutting it off . this also keeps exhaust manifolds from warping also.hot wire to cooling fan for super hot days. If you put hand under wheel well after shut off it all makes sence.
