I had a 30'Class'A'on the Chevy P30 chassis, 454. for 14 years. After about 30,000 miles I was told to use 20w50 in it because its a hot runnin engine with sloppy tolerances. Seemed to work good. Don't forget to shield the starter motor against the dredded "Hot Start" problem. It absorbs heat when shut down and locks the plunger in place till it cools down. Great fun at gas stations. Also, when it cracks exhaust manifolds install the BEST aftermarket copper gaskets you can find.
This last weekend It was in the 85f outside . temp gauge on motorhome
held right at 190f with front air conditioning on . I shut it down
after idle for 5 mins . and I noticed if I turn keey back on to part right before starter kicks in the front electric radiator fan kicks on . would this be another way to cool it more after shut down . You know leave keey on for 5-10 mins . Theres some serious heat in engine compartment.

Let it idle for a few minutes. The fan will cool whats in the radiator and some cooling to engine but the coolant is not moving. Heat is still trapped inside the engine. Idling will bring the coolant temps down both in the rad and inside the engine.
