I don't think they used a dual output alternator in 93, most later GM's use some sort of solid state block isolator to charge the 2 house batteries with the output on the alternator active so they can't run down the engine battery.
I would never tell anyone to switch a volt/ohm meter to amps or ohms around a 12v battery unless I was selling meters.
The fans in front of the condenser for the ac run off the pressure switch on the liquid line drier on the left side under the hood. when the ac is on and the compressor runs it causes the pressure to be above 200 lbs, this makes the pressure switch and pulls in a relay that turns on the fans.
