GM shipped with 4200 pound springs in that era I read because they really did not know what the final build out weigh by the MH makers would be.
the Henderson SS260 5-5.3K springs worked great for us. The one time we weight the front axle was at 4600 but not fully loaded.
In our case GBM added 18" to the wheel base to make for good handling on our 1993 32' Pursuit so that shifted some weight forward.
