1995 Callista Cruiser by Carriage - In search of manual

Hi there -

I just purchased my first RV. It's a 1995 29' Callista Cruiser by Carriage. I have manuals for the appliances and the Ford e350 but nothing for the actual RV. Does anyone have a copy or know where I can purchase one? I've been searching and cannot find anything and being that the company is out of business...

Thank you in advance.

Karin
  • Hi there Mich - Sorry for the delayed response. My RV was getting a transmission overhaul so I couldn't go check. So - a little nerveracking pushing a button not knowing what it's for...but I did :) The red light lights up...that's it.

Thank you j-d. I'm pretty excited. I've found where most everything is located. For the things I don't have manuals, I'm doing a little You Tube searching :) One strange one is a switch above the stove and under the vent hood. It's just a switch with a red light. Have zero clue what that is for. Any ideas?

That switch could be for your water heater. What happens when you turn it on ? :B

Karin, WELCOME! You'll be a seasoned RVer before long!

That RV Repair/Maint book is by author Bob Livingston and it's very good. Will help you a lot. What it won't help much with is the specific locations of things like valves, and info like capacities of tanks. But Eric's comment is right - Most RV "Owner Manuals" are very generic and don't tell you those things either. For example, the Manual for our coach in signature says "Fresh Water Tank is under a Sofa or Cabinet." Nope, it's under the Coach Body. That's a pretty radical difference.
  • Hey there Eric -

Thank you. I'm completely new to RV'ing. Been tent/pop-up camper for years. I did just order an older book "RV Repair and Maintenance" and a log book to start tracking maintenance, etc. I'm hoping that will help.

I don't have any manuals on things like how the sewage system works. :) That's really new to me. If that sort is not in the operating manual from Carriage - maybe I'll just 'google' it.

    Thanks again.

  • Karin,

I can't help you with the manual except to say that RV manuals, at least the ones I've seen, are generic and not very helpful. Really, when you think about it, the things that need instruction you have the manuals for now, anyway.

If you have any specific question, ask here on this forum. Lots of smart and experienced folks here.
