1995 Carriage Callista Cover

I'm getting ready to buy my 1st motor home. It’s a 1995 Carriage Callista Cove, I have inspected it and found no leaks, it's very clean. Just not sure about the brand, can anyone give me some advice? This is the description from the ad on craigslist.

It has new flooring, day-night shades, a new queen pillow-top mattress, new swivel rocker, 19"HDTV and DVD player. The radio is a Kenwood with Blue Tooth, Sirus XM and CD player with surround sound. It has automatic leveling jacks, tires are in good condition, 7.5 liter 460 cu.in. engine, which is very strong with only 47,885 miles. The Onan generator has only 169 hours. It comes with an automatic entry step, large awning, air, lots of storage, window covering, and is set up for either cable or satellite.

  • Usmc68 not to many us Callista left.
So far, we love it. Took it on a short three day trip last week, touch wood, everything work without a problem. The site we went to is call Porto Bodega, in Bodega Bay, only 50 miles from home. We wanted to stay close for the first outing, and this place had full hookups so we got to test everything, and like I said every thing work great.
Usmc68 I’m going to send you an private message with my phone number. When you have a couple of minutes would you give me a call, I have a few questions about the Callista. Thanks Gus
  • I have a 1994 Callista Cove 28' with the 460 in it. I purchased it in 2010 with 38K miles for $10,000.
The engine is a beast, very powerfull but also very thirsty.
We have driven it to Sonora Mexico, all over the Western USA and back here to Maryland. The only problem we have had was the transmission needed to be replaced. That was probably our fault for towing a very heavy trailer and a fully loaded RV cross country during our move. Great RV and always a fun time when we take it out on the weekends. We have almost 60K miles on it and plan to keep it for a lonng time. Ohh, I did have to re-coat the roof with liquid EPDM, awesome stuff!!

  • "Soft spots" walk on it, any give, usually there is a leak somewhere. Selling price sounds to be more than twice what a 95 should be according to NADA for a M2804 (29' with ctr bath) with "standard" (which is base before adding options) equipment is @ $6270
  • Sorry for got to tell you the price. $16,000.

Yes I know Carriage has gone, out of business and I belive that Forest River took them over. I did not see any de-lamination in the sidewalls, How would I find "soft spots in the floor" can you see them from under the unit?
  • Carriage is gone, went out of business a few years back. Carriage travel trailers and fifth wheels were usually of very high quality. Carriage was in the motorized RV business for a short period of time in relation to the company's business life. Should be a quality RV. Now, what is the condition, age of the tires, any de-lamination in the sidewalls, soft spots in the floor?
