1995 Chevrolet 454 TBI engine starting problem

I have a 96 p-30 454 we stopped one day and try to restart engine would turn over but made no attempt to fire took it to chevy dealer (coachnet) it was a bad ignition switch . Not the key but some sort of relay /fuse block looking thing. Cost about $250.00 parts and labor. I didn't think that was to bad of a deal.
