1995 Dolphin with 460 motor
Thought we had a Vapor lock problem when it was real hot outside. The motor home motor would buck, miss, backfire, and just plane quit running. Let it sit for 1.5-3hrs and it would start up and run fine. We wound calling AAA 2 times to get towed off the main road, around the corner to cool down. Final results were a lean out of the injectors on the gas motor frying a piston.
A week later I was talking to a Ford Mechanic and he said it was not a vapor lock problem but a Fuel pump in dying stage. Had I knowen this it would have saved replacing the motor.
I should have check it out better before the real problem cost me big time.
