In the two cases I remember, the cables all looked fine, but were corroded inside the insulation at one or the other end, usually the battery end. In my cases, replacing the cables cured the problem. The battery was staying charged, as the current that could get through was enough to keep it charged. I am curious though, will the battery checker inside read the battery is fine if there is an issue with the battery or cables? I mean, doesn't it have to have a good connect just to read and display the battery info?
