Not sure what version, but my Fleetwood is wired so that the chassis can be started and run with battery disconnect off. The chassis battery goes directly to the starter with a second lead going to the battery control center. Yes, there is certain chassis functions that do not operate with the battery disconnect in the off position.
Mine is on a Chev chassis.
What level is your CB-115 circuit board? If it is rev-D, or higher, Your engine will start with the chassis and/or house battery disconnects OFF because circuitry was added in rev-D to turn the batteries ON with the ignition. The '97 came with CB-115 at revision level A, which does not have this feature. Being a chevy make no difference as this is a Fleetwood feature, not a chassis feature.
The starter circuits are different for a Chevy, however, so troubleshooting will be different.
I have no idea.. I have not taken off all the battery cables and opened the box... and if is ford, not chevy. I mainly now need to know where the fuel thingy switch is to try that.... given it wont even try to start with the disconnects on or off....
My question was directed at enblethen. I'm aware your rig is a Ford.
