1997 Headlights on Bounder

I know the halogen bulbs can be replaced

But

Can the headlight be disassembled to clean the inside of the lenses

I've done the exterior clean and restore, with the mguires plastic polish and UV protection spray
They are clear not yellow, but there are spots on the inside of the lenses

Just replace them. The problem is not only the lenses degrading, but, the reflectors (inside the lamp assembly) degrade also. Turn the headlights on at night and look at the back side of the lamp assembly. If you see light going out the back of the lamp assembly, well . . . . . that light is supposed to go out the front.

  • I replaced mine about four years ago with these Ford headlights and very reasonable compared to calling Fleetwood. They are at least a 1/3 brighter.

Switch the Crest toothpaste and WD40. Cannot help on replacements.
  • Look at buyrvlights.com. You can get a complete replacement set. I replaced mine, and was very pleased with the results and cost.
  • They're usually glued together.
Most of the time they used headlight assemblies from a popular model current vehicle. Looking at pics of 1997 Bounders (yeah, I've got time on my hands!) your's look like they may be from a 1995-ish Ford Ranger pickup.
I've had great luck with aftermarket, factory style replacements. Often you can get a set from eBay for well under $100 and they're perfect! Example
There may even be some embossed righting on your lights that reveal their origin.
