1999 American Cruiser RE2000 class B

I am interested in buying one of these and I need advice on what might be a good price. It has 47,000 miles and the dealer will go under $19,900. I have yet to drive it though it is suppose to be in good shape. Have run Carfax and it's clean. 5 owners in 14 years. Is that an issue?
Any thoughts on these rvs? Do you like them? Any issues? Anything specific to look for if I test drive it? Have heard some Dodge's handling issues. Looking forward to your thoughts!
  • I have no experience with that model only information that
I recently saw about class B in general.

Other than a general inspection check the weights / capacity closely.

Also search this forum as to the meanings of the weight charts.

I saw a review of a new Class B from an RV show, and if you add more than a 150 lb. driver, it was overloaded!

Not saying all are like that, but something to be very aware of and learn about.

    Good luck in your purchase.
  • Did you check nada rv book value?
Just by putting in the info you have given (no extras etc) Nada shows $15,500 average retail and $13,000 low book. Really need to take a close look at the condition and all the mechanics...have anything you buy checked out first.
