Thanks for all the great replies.
-Yes, the shift pad is lit up like normal.
-I bypassed the battery switch and that did not change anything.
-Tested ignition switch, it checks out good.
-The batteries have all been tested, cables checked, etc. Everything is good.
-I don't know how to bypass the neutral safety switch on this.
-I took the trans keypad off to see if it has any fuses;it does not.
Can anyone here describe how to bypass the neutral safety switch? Mine is an Allison MD3060.
Thanks again!
Forget all the individual components and go directly to the starter for bypassing all. If you can find the aux solenoid (prime suspect here) and maybe on a side rail close and opposite the starter, that would be a good place for a jumper. First try the coil pos to a 12v source and if it cranks, turn on the ign. and it should start. If not, get a heavier jumper and go straight across the contacts.
Any of this not applicable, then try going from the starter's main solenoid to a 12v source. Most of the DP's have a bunch of hot cables in the rear and usually mounted on the inside frame.
I've since installed a couple of bypass buttons in mine, that not only starts it, if there's a problem, but pretty much does the trouble shooting for you, as well.
Obviously doesn't work for a bad starter or for the starter's main solenoid. Mine is on top of the starter, so it's wise to just change the starter combo and be done with it. Least ways, the bypassing does tell you, if the starter assy is bad.
With all of the above, having a heavy momentary button with a couple of long leads and alligator clips is invaluable and saves a lot of sparking and such. I sometimes still use the one I've had for 63yrs which came in a tool kit and a present from my Father.
