1999 Holiday Rambler Endeavor

We're first time buyers and are considering a 1999 Holiday Rambler Endeavor 38 Ft. with 67,000 miles on it. It is from a private seller that we know and it's been well taken care of. Thoughts please?

  • My '98 Endeavor (5.9 ISB,275 HP) has been great! We've been fulltiming in it for 13 years. Like everyone else's rig it's had some problems but I've been able to take care of them. Most of them myself, some at a shop. We don't regret buying this rig.

  • Very few changes in the HR Endeavor from 1999 to 2000. My 2000 has been a great motorhome. Freightliner Chassis with Cat engine.

If you buy it, get a 4 corner weight and check the tire load capacity. The single slide model is heavy on driver front.

  • The Endeavor was in the middle of the Holiday Rambler line-up, so it was a very good rig at a competitive price. If it was taken care of, it should serve you well.

I believe most were built with the Cummins ISB, which is a satisfactory power plant that you will never wear out. The ISC is larger with more power, and also will never wear out. I'm not that familiar with the gas powered chassis, but friends that have them are happy.

If you really want to talk to some Endeavor owners, locate the Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club chapter near you and attend a monthly meeting. The club has a web site.
  • As with any used coach, condition is the key.

Do or have done a thorough inspection of drive train, body, and interior components.

The Endeavor was/is a popular and well built rig.
  • Why not, that was when HR was building some of their finest coaches! Gas or diesel? I had a 01 Endeavor, traveled the country and now my neighbor is doin the same w/the ole girl!!! JMO
