Go for it don't sweat the small stuff. We took kids friends all the time, sure there were hiccups but all in all it was the best of times. Kids are now grown and they still talk about the camping trips. We put the kids in tents as well. Bring marshmallows to roast on campfire (or bb q pit). Think of some fun stuff to do.The kids would go fishing sometimes. When they were older the whole group of them would go camping by themselves. They all would come back pretty much in one piece . ( a few bumps and bruises) . We took different friends we usually knew them from hanging around the house. Enjoy your time together have fun.
