Are these of good quality? I'm thinking about a look at one. Anything I should keep an eye out for? Or should I move on?

What Blackdiamond said, eyes wide open. If the #53 block scares you, look on the right side (from the flywheel end) for any signs of leakage. If it shows signs of leakage, it can be repaired, in chassis for about $600 by a welding shop.
