2000 Powertech diesel not cranking fast enough to start.

Morning all. We have a new to us Country Coach Allure that has a slow starting generator. When starting generator we hit the glow plugs for a few then hit start. It turns over real slow like a dead...

Powertech says to hold the prime button for 15 seconds each time prior to trying to start the generator. That is overkill once the generator has been started and stopped. My 7kw grinds a bit before starting unlike my Cummins engine which pops right off.

There is a trouble shooting chart in the rear of the manual.
