2003 Mandalay slide trouble

Large slide makes loud noise, popping and squealing noise when opening, also jerks a lot. The seal when open from outside looks like the flap is not facing outward, still in closing position (inward). Any ideas really makes a lot of noise, but does open and close. Do not want to break anything.
