Hello all, Hoping to locate someone here in the know on this, or maybe even a link to a previously helpful thread on this topic. I have searched but haven't come up with anything using the terms I have selected thus far. Sorry if its an old request. My 2004 Workhorse Chasis motorhome has an LCD readout in the dash gauge cluster. The readout is supposed to display info such as odometer, tripometer, oil pressure, battery voltage, etc. Mine has a bunch of horizontal lines and is generally a garbled mess, nothing is very readable at all. I am very mechanically able and I would have no problem removing the display for service. Do you know of anyone that can repair the display or if a replacement display is available, and any idea of the costs if you know. Appreciate any direction offered on this. Many thanks, john

What you have is the ACTIA dash on your coach. If you do a search online for ACTIA dash repair, you will find several companies that can fix your readout. There was a recall(50402-C, 2006) that, judging from the age of your coach was probably already taken care of.

Mine did that too.. Turns out there is a Technical Service Bulletin out on them, this is not a recall since it is NOT a safety issue.. But what it means is if you take it to a authrized service center you just might leave happy.As i said,,, Mine went out.. ON THE WAY to said authorized service center :).I did not even have to make an appointment to get it fixed, Just and "Oh, by the way, on the way here....."

Since the OP's coach is a 2004, it would be subject to the recall, 50402-C, that was a safety recall since it affected the calibration of the Actia dash that affected the ABS system. This recall was for 2003 and 2004 Workhorse chassis RV's. There may have been a TSB for later year coaches but the OP should first check to see if the recall was performed on his coach, which can be found by entering his VIN number at the Workhorse registration.

I believe it is supposed to be grey background, from my memory of when it did last work. Mine hasn't had any background color, even with lights on, for some time now. I would much rather the whiter background for better contrast. Sorry to hear about this being a recurring problem for some. Going to try to make some calls to Workhorse service dept to see if they will take care of this.

I'm on my third Actia gauge. The original LED readout was gray and became garbled like yours.

The second was orange in color, making it easier to read. It died and now I'm on my third.

Mine were all covered by warranty and the dealer replaced them.

What color is yours?

That problem is fixed with a FW/SW update to the cluster. Any Workhorse service center can get it done for you.
