The engine is supposed to be running when engaging the slides, not the generator.
A slide motor is $800-$900, plus one hour labor.
The odd thing about the CAT C7s were that whether it was the 300, 330 or 350, they all had the same torque rating. 860.
Windows? Just curious.
I did not notice any bad windows. I still have to go back and pay for it I plan to look things over some more before handing the money over.
Gundog,
Some coach builders "recommend" the engine be running when the slides are being either extended or retracted. Some, actually have interlock systems that, the slides WILL NOT extend or retract UNLESS the engine is running. On our coach, an '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the CAT C-7 330HP, neither is needed. The slide(s) will extend or retract without the engine running. Ours are hydraulic slides. There still is a motor that runs the hydraulic pump and it uses electricity but, our slides have no issues extending or retracting on just battery power.
Obtaining the serial number of your CAT engine, while trying to see it on any number of surfaces on the engine itself, can be a real pain. So, you need to find either paperwork or something else that will reveal the actual serial number. THAT will tell you whether or not it's the 300 or 330.
