On our 06 Outlook, the shaft on the motor failed, actually split the length of the shaft (living room slide). This happened the first year we had the unit.
The cost of the warranty repair in 07 or 08 was about $2000. 1200+/- for the motor/actuator/shaft and the remaining in labour, about 6 hours.
On ours the motor still worked, but was not connected the to slide-out. Even the manual crank would not work, but we were able to push the slide in, and then secured with come-a-long straps.
