2007 Jayco Seneca

am looking at a 2007 Seneca Model 35GS..would like to know the pros and cons from Seneca owners..thanks
  • I do believe that a Kodiak class 5 truck is a completely different animal compared to any of the other Chevy offerings. Different assembly lines, different factories and discontinued when GM could not find a buyer for the operation. We have a Ford E150 van conversion and the Kodiak feels like a concert hall compared to the full size van. Had it been the same size we would not have purchased ours long ago.
  • We've got an 08 35GS which now has 42,000 miles on it and it has been basically flawless. It has gone North, South, East and West over mountains, hills and dales and handles them all wonderfully pulling a " toad" at or probably a little over GCVW.

The increased cab size of a medium duty truck over the smaller offerings and more storage than we have been able to fill both inside and out make it great for us. Happy hunting.

The main part of a MD cab is the same as a Chevy Express Van. Doors and Windshield are interchangeable.
The added storage of the Super C's make a very good MH. Not to many complaints on the Kodiak Chassis Forum about any of them built on this chassis. Some had wrong springs, but a easy fix. Link to the forum in my signature.
  • We have 7 years on a 2006 Seneca 34SS. We looked at four makers of Kodiak based rigs and liked what Jayco did the best. After 7 years I would not make a different decision. You see, I get the motor and she gets the home. You may want to look at a diesel model over the gas however as that is the main reason I got it. If for no other reason than the exhaust brake feature which make our trips in the high country so much easier. Something about the rig holding steady at 55-60 down 6% grades without touching the breaks is nice to have. The increased cab size of a medium duty truck over the smaller offerings and more storage than we have been able to fill both inside and out make it great for us. Happy hunting.
  • We had a 36FS for a couple of years.

Spoiled forever by the amount of storage and power.:)

Many count Jayco among the better built C's but we weren't impressed with the quality. Our current Winnie appears far better built.

Good luck and enjoy whatever you buy!
  • We bought a new Seneca toy hauler back in 07 and wound up returning it to the dealer 7 months later. Nothing but problems with it! We wound up buying a new DP instead.

We may have gotten the one built on a hangover Monday, as I talked to other people who owned similar rigs at the time and they didn't have the problems we were having with ours. I just felt that the overall quality sucked for price we paid.
