Thanks Retraite. They are raised dots that I can feel and a narrow band extends from each side of the semi-circle along the top of the windscreen to the outer edges. I didn't want to destroy an antenna if that is what it is, at the same time it might be the best place to mount an RVGPS holder which may require a smoother surface.
