2008 Concord 275DS... TVs not working...

I just bought a used 2008 Coachman Concord, the TVs in the front and rear will come on but no picture. They are HDTVs with a omni directional round type antenna on the roof.

The previous owner said he only hooked up to cable at campsites and never used the external antenna. I have looked for a switch box to switch from cable to antenna but can't find one.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.....

Are you sure your TV's are Digital-Capable? Mandatory conversion to DTV was 2009 and your coach is 2008 with TV's that could have been made earlier. Unless of course they were replaced.
I've had to re-wire (just rearrange the connections) on two RV's that somebody thought should work some other way.
On was a Winnebago View and it was pretty complicated. It had a flat screen but the flat screen was not DTV. It had both Cable and Satellite capability, and to that a "tech" tried to add a Converter (DTV to Analog) Box. Luckily Winnebago has all the wiring on-line and I worked with the owners to get it back like it was meant to work, and they had replaced the original TV with a DTV version that didn't call for a Converter.
The other RV I actually worked on was ours. The Signal Booster Plate

was mis-wired on the back side.
This Document shows you how this plate should be wired on the back side. Note Antenna is one side, Cable is the middle, and Set Two (like in another part of the RV) is on the other side. The coax connector on the FRONT of the panel is Set One.
Our coach had only the panel pictured. The Winnebago had another panel and more connections.
Another time we were camping and a man came over asking how to watch TV. Was scanning for channels and finding none. Turned out that TV wasn't DTV even though it was flat screen. I had a spare converter and we tried to connect it but we never really succeeded. Got one channel. This can get tricky, and we couldn't find wiring diagrams for that RV.
  • I had this same issue, 2005 Concord. Thanks akrv, above the sink on the underside of the cabinet is a black push button switch. Pushed it and the TV found channels. I dot really watch TV while camping but now know I can if I need to.
  • You didn't mention if the TVs have ststic or no picture at all. If no picture at all, the problem may be with theTVs. On my Concord, the antenna amplifier switch is in the cabinet beside the front TV above the passenger seat.
  • On my 2005 the plate is above the kitchen sink .

I did a channel scan on both TVs...still not working. It is like the antenna is not connected....
Is there normally a switch for the roof antenna to cable somewhere?

You scanned for channels, but have you set the TVs for air and not cable input ?
  • You may have a switch for an antenna booster amplifier, and a switch to switch between the antenna and cable. Mine has a control box with a bunch of switches on it to select the antenna, cable etc. It is located near the antenna in a cabinet.

  • tww ,

Have you scan the channels? Some TVs require you to scan the channels first .
  • Is there any plastic plate with a little button for a booster for the antenna ? Since the previous owner only used park cable, the TV will have to be reprogrammed to pick up over the air signals. If you go into the setup on the TV you can change the input to air from cable and then do a channel search.
