Let's assume that the electrical system in my '06 Beaver by Monaco is somewhat similar to yours. Yours may well be even more sophisticated. My manual tells me that the electrical management system from surges, over voltage and under voltage among other things. For instance, if I plug into a power pole with an open ground, my electrical system will not allow contact from the shore power system. It just sits there flashing the message "open ground detected" and the input voltage remains at zero. This actually happened to me once. All these details are covered in my owners' manual but somewhat obscure. The writer of the manual assumed I knew things that I did not know.
Read through your manual carefully and you will learn a lot. Also, call Monaco in Coburg,OR (877-466-6226) for more technical help. They still offer support even if you are out or warranty. Have your coach number ready and they will be looking at the specs specifically for your coach.
