2008 Windsport owners please step in here...

I have a 2008 Windsport that has 4 round headlights. Each headlight has a bulb that supports high and low beam.

When I turn the headlights on only the outermost light on each side turns on. When I turn on the high beam, the outer lights turn off and the other set turns on.

Given that the headlights are only 5 3/4" headlights and smaller than most headlights, the light output on low beams is pathetic at best. I will spend some time checking out the voltage at the light and see if an upgrade to the harness is warranted.

However, my question to the board and other 2008 Windsport owners in particular is: "Do your lights operate this way as well?"

  • I wouldn't turn off your DRL's. They're a safety issue. Help you be seen.
  • yes thats how mine work and they suck. i just try not to drive a5t night time. i think they need more voltage with a relay and heavier wire
  • 06 Hurricane driver. Head lights on my rig are out of a 2000 vintage Jeep Grand Cherokee. I guess they work just fine when fitted to a Jeep but in my coach well lets just say I really, REALLY try and avoid driving at night. I've got the RELAYS in had to upgrade the power distribution to the lights but unfortunately Amazon doesn't carry Round-To-Its.

Any F53 owners know how I can disable the day light running lights or if I even need too with the addition of power relays?
  • If it's a Ford chassis, the voltage will be about 2 volts lower at the headlights than the system voltage. A relay setup WILL help.

Don't know how they should operate though, sorry.
