wemery,
Thanks for the heads-up about the kitchen sink plumbing. I've added that to our to-check list.
rondeb,
I ordered the shelves at pullashelf.com They have links to several other shelving sites. I went with them because they were one of the only places I found that had the hidden (undermount) glides. You gain about 5/8 of an inch in width using those glides versus the ones that attach on the sides. I didn't want to give up even that little bit of space. :) Also, they allow you to return the shelves if you make a mistake in measuring and will re-do them for you. You pay the shipping. Some places won't do that.
I'll post my measurements, but would suggest you check them against yours just in case there's any difference. They like things measured to 1/16th of an inch.
Some "issues" we ran into (all minor). One of our door latches wasn't high enough to allow even their 2 3/8" sliding shelf to clear. We simply unscrewed it and moved it up to the height of the one on the other door. Have no idea why they were at different heights. Filled the holes with a bit of wood putty and touched it up with a little stain. Can hardly see it now. On one of our bottom shelves (I've forgotten if it was the top half or bottom half of the cabinet) we had to add some spacers under the glides because the shelf wouldn't quite clear the "lip". You'll know what I mean when you look in your cabinet if it's made like ours.
Below is exactly what we ordered. I sent the measurements in a drawing. (The contractor in me, I guess.) I'll put that in a separate reply since this one is getting long. I can also email it to anyone who's interested.
Our order:
2 Sliding Shelves to fit an opening of 11-1/16" using 22-1/2” long 3/4-Extension Hidden glides and sanded Plywood Bottoms, dado-captured and glued in place. Since the hidden glide framework Inside the cabinet requires 5/8" clearance, the actual shelf size will be 10-7/16" Wide x 24" Long x 2-3/8" Tall.
2 Tall Sliding Shelves to fit an opening of 11-1/16" using 22-1/2” long 3/4-Extension Hidden glides and sanded Plywood Bottoms, dado-captured and glued in place. Since the hidden glide framework Inside the cabinet requires 5/8" clearance, the actual shelf size will be 10-7/16" Wide x 24" Long x 2-3/8" Tall in the front with 4" sides and back.
If the following 2 items are not correct, YOUR SHELVES WILL NOT FIT .
The above Sliding Shelves will attach to the surface below.
Please double-check to make sure that, either the hinges or door do not protrude into the opening (which would impede the path of a Sliding Shelf when the door is open), or that you have allowed for that event.
