rondeb,
The only reason I did that drawing was because I had started out with one set of measurements and ended up with another when I went back and re-measured. I did the drawing so they would have the corrected measurements and so they would understand the idiosyncrasies of our pantry. (The difference in the "lip" depths, wider behind the framework on one side than on the other, and why there was a difference in the depth of the bottom shelf and the upper shelf in each half.) I'm sure they would have done just fine without the drawing. But I'm a visual person so the drawing was probably more for me than for them. ;)
The lady I dealt with was named Charity, and she had sent me a preliminary order "form" from the first set of dimensions I gave her. I wanted to re-measure (contractor thing again, measure twice - cut once). When I did, I found minor differences. The first way would have worked, but by tweaking it just a little I gained a tiny bit more width and depth.
Just measure as accurately as you can - clear opening (in mine that's from wood to wood framing, not from interior wall to wall, and the hinges don't intrude into the space) and clear depth from the front of the shelf to the rear. (I went all the way to the rear wall, ignoring the upright supports and that worked out just fine.)
This is a very laid-back group. What you saw, detailing my order, was pretty much all I got. But it all worked out, in the time frame that they said it would.
Tom had to tweak the installation a little because that space is so narrow, but it wasn't any harder than doing it the way they said in the instructions. He'll be happy to answer any questions you have if you decide to order some of these. He said it was easier than installing the toilet.
