I've decided to varnish the wallpaper border in the kitchen. Just looked up how to waterproof wallpaper and it said to use a waterbased varnish. I am going to run blue tape at the edges of the border and then brush on the varnish. Hopefully this will save the kitchen border since I have already removed the border in the bath. If it doesn't work, I'll just remove it as it will eventually have to be removed anyway.
