Hi, All-
I, too, just read this thread front to back because my DH, Goldencrazy, has been talking about all your great modifications and ideas. Yes, I was his partner in crime recently when we traded the "W" for a "T". Other than the great interior colors both rigs had, what got me was the buffet (with all the great, ACCESSIBLE, storage and the bedroom that gave me my own hanging closet and added 5 full inches to the space on my side of the bed. (Not being the smallest girl at the dance, getting up on a cold night to use the bathroom and bumping my butt into the cold wall was always an unpleasant shock!) Haven't done it yet, but I think bathroom trips will be much less eventful!
We did a couple of other things to our 30W DH didn't mention. None of them are any real big deal but thought I'd share:
1) Above the couch in compartment nearest the door we anchored an X-style wine rack to the side and back wall. We then installed the lucite stemware holder (from Campingworld) beside it. A small bubble wrap square for each glass with a slit cut in the center to allow for the foot slid over the bowl and prevented them from banging together.
2) Installed 2 4-hook units, side-by-side, under the picture next to the front door. Used heavy-duty double-faced tape to secure. Great for hanging leashes, keys on laniards, sun glasses, etc.
3) Target has 11" accent lamps in a variety of bases and shades. I put two in the bathroom...one to the left of the sink and the other to the far right. Used U-brads to run the cord under the upper vanity and a splitter on the outlet. They only use 25-watt bulbs, but it improves the light from just the overhead significantly.
4) Found a place online that sells cargo netting that you can stretch over the inside of a cabinet to prevent things from falling out when you open it after being on the road. Will install these in the 30T.
5) Walmart has brushed nickel-covered jars in three sizes you can use as canisters. The medium fit precisely under and over the kitchen shelf but the fit is just snug enough that they won't travel when you do.
Thanks, again, for all the great ideas. I would really like to check out the solar panels and the toilet issue.
