What we do is unplug the RV from the outside source of power, turn on the generator and either turn on an electric heater or the AC to exercise the generator. What I was saying is that the RV is not plugged into the generator and yet with no outside electrical source we get the electrical power from the generator without plugging it in. Maybe Winnebago changed the system later in the cycle year to not have to plug the RV into the generator to use the generator. Makes sense that is how it should be. Our Class C ran that way so we didn't know that it was suppose to work any other way LOL
We have never plugged ours in and if I want to make a pot of coffee or we want to turn the AC on, all I have to do is start the generator and I have power.
